Nancy Williams is a qualified Social Worker with a background focused on a caring capacity spanning over a 30 year period. Throughout her varied career, she has worked mainly in a Social Work setting, she was also heavily involved in Voluntary Services (previous member of The Rotary Club) Capability Scotland Young Adults with Special Needs and Disabilities. Her experiences during these times and at present include working with service users who have Dementia, Brain Injury, Palliative Care, Death and Dying and Childcare.
She was born in Blackwood and spent her childhood years there, attending the local school, getting married and having a family there. After 20 years of experience in the caring role and whilst working as a Social Workers Assistant she applied as a mature student and successfully became a Social Worker.
Nancy is a people person who strives to bring the best out in people and enjoy listening to people’s life stories. Her aim is to employ staff with high values who will treat people as an individual, with respect and dignity in a courteous manner as if this person were one of their own family.
Her goals as a professional in this business are to improve the quality of our service users lives and to make a difference without changing the way they choose to live. She also wants to be able to bring out the best in our Support Working Team by giving them training and by sharing her own experiences and knowledge. Nancy wants to be involved in changing lay people’s perception of the support workers role by making sure our Support Team have the up to date skills knowledge and experience to be the best that they can be in order to prepare themselves for the evolving needs and requirements of this role in the 21st century.Contact Us
